Dead Island Announcement Trailer - It's No Ordinary Family Vacation

I was viewing Facebook today and came across this incredibly surreal and yes, heartbreaking 'Dead Island' announcement trailer. It's unlike anything I've seen in a video game trailer in awhile. And it's pretty depressing too, but that's the whole point.

The game takes place somewhere on a tropical island resort, probably far away from the rest of civilization, where no one can hear you scream.

This trailer is pretty crazy to say the least, and violent. And if you didn't think children could ever be eaten by zombies, you were dead wrong.

And Dead Island is not your ordinary zombie slashing survivor horror, this game pits you against hungry zombies and you barely have a leg to stand on, let alone running into weapon and ammo cache along the way, which apparently is a no-go. You get what you get and that's all there is to it. Survivor of the fittest, and if you aren't trying to survive by finding valuable items like baseball bats and knives, then you aren't going to survive for very long.

Now this is a game that rings true "survival-horror", unlike the Left 4 Dead series, or really, any zombie game previously seen.
