Sonic Generations Demo Gameplay Video
On June 23, 2011, Sonic the Hedgehog turned a whopping 20 years old! Yeah, he's younger than me, strangely, and because of this, Team Sonic announced that they would be releasing a playable demo of Sonic's next big adventure, Sonic Generations, in celebration of Sonic the Hedgehog's 20th Anniversary! Just incredible!
The playable demo is available on Xbox 360 and PS3 and will only last for 20 days, June 23 to July 12 and when the timer hits zero, the demo will be inaccessible, so you better hurry on over(I'm sure you've already done so!) and download the game and play it 5000 times before July 12th!
I've made a gameplay video of the exciting demo, which you can view below.
The demo offers only one level, Green Hill Zone and you'll be able to only play as Classic Sonic, but in the full retail game, players will get to play as not only the original blue hedgehog, but also Modern Sonic, as well. (Not too pleased with that decision, however, as it's all about 2D side-scrolling supersonic action! Yeah!)
After about 50 tries(couldn't get enough!), I was able to beat Green Hill Zone in about 1:05. I'm gonna keep trying as I know I can get just under a minute!
What say you? How fast can you beat the level?!

Angry Birds Rio Launches with new Amazon AppStore!
Angry Birds Rio, a sorta sequel to the massively popular bird-flinging game, Angry Birds, is now available on Android, but you won't find it in the Android Market. You will, however, find the new addictive AB game through the just launched Amazon AppStore, which you can download the game free of change(with no ads to boot) for a limited time(today only), then it'll be $.99 thereafter.
You must have an Amazon.com account, and it also appears that you have to have a credit card on file to download the game(after you download/install the Amazon AppStore app). But hey, it's Angry Birds, and there are no catches that would keep me away from my Angry Birds addiction(lol).
Also, you must have the Amazon AppStore installed at all time in order to run Angry Birds Rio, but you can uninstall the other Amazon app, if you so desire.
Anyways...the game runs extremely well on my Droid X. It's fun. It's addicting(like all AB games are). And it's free. Three things that should get you to download the game.
So, what you waiting for? Go download Rio now!
(Also, this game rocks..but I highly doubt the movie will..just sayin')

Xbox LIVE Labs Testing Program Initiated
Today marks the start of Xbox LIVE Labs, a testing program that helps improve the overall experience of Xbox LIVE, mainly network testing.
Xbox LIVE Labs is solely optional and voluntary, according to Major Nelson's blog post, and grants each person who participates three Xbox LIVE avatar clothing pieces, along with three Zero Point Achievements.
Not bad, but there are a few catches if you desire to take part. The catches are, you cannot play any games, watch any more, or pretty much do anything on your Xbox 360 while the testing is going on.
Also take note that while the program tests your Xbox 360 to Xbox LIVE, you will never be identified at all.
So it appears there's three test phases:
- Lab Technician (Time: Continuous 30 minutes
- Senior Research Analyst (Time: Cumulative 1 hour)
- Mad "360" Scientist (Time: Cumulative 6 hours)
That's about it. Three phases. That ain't so bad, right? There is one other thing though..while the testing is going on, your internet connection can slow down pretty badly and lots of data will be used.
Now go be a lab rat and support Xbox LIVE!

Dead Island Announcement Trailer - It's No Ordinary Family Vacation
I was viewing Facebook today and came across this incredibly surreal and yes, heartbreaking 'Dead Island' announcement trailer. It's unlike anything I've seen in a video game trailer in awhile. And it's pretty depressing too, but that's the whole point.
The game takes place somewhere on a tropical island resort, probably far away from the rest of civilization, where no one can hear you scream.
This trailer is pretty crazy to say the least, and violent. And if you didn't think children could ever be eaten by zombies, you were dead wrong.
And Dead Island is not your ordinary zombie slashing survivor horror, this game pits you against hungry zombies and you barely have a leg to stand on, let alone running into weapon and ammo cache along the way, which apparently is a no-go. You get what you get and that's all there is to it. Survivor of the fittest, and if you aren't trying to survive by finding valuable items like baseball bats and knives, then you aren't going to survive for very long.
Now this is a game that rings true "survival-horror", unlike the Left 4 Dead series, or really, any zombie game previously seen.
Now go on...watch the announcement trailer below, or elsewhere, just as long as you watch it. You can thank me later, and yes, it's 3 minutes you'll be glad you wasted.

Duke Nukem Forever: Balls of Steel Edition Announced [EPIC]
Well, I knew it was going to happen, but just didn't know "when" it was going to happen.
So today, I woke up around 8am thanks to my alarm clock, turned said alarm clock off, checked my e-mail on my powerful Droid X, which is now powered by Liberty 1.5 ROM, and immediatly noticed an e-mail from the hero dev company that is Gearbox Software, the subject read, "First Access Club Alert: Duke Nukem Forever Balls of Steel Edition Announced!" - I was like, "WOAH!" .... "I'm totally pre-ordering that today!"
I just knew Gearbox couldn't release Duke Nukem Forever without announcing a kick-ass Collector's Edition, and boy did they go all out!
And just in case you were wondering, here's what this Bad-Ass Edition includes:
- Collectible bust of the greatest alien ass-kicker of all-time
- Numbered limited edition certificate of authencity
- 100-page hardcover book: History, Legacy and Legend: Duke Nukem Forever Art from the Vault
- Duke Nukem Forever postcard series
- Duke Nukem Forever radioactive emblem sticker
- Duke Nukem Forever collectible comic book
- Duke Nukem Forever foldable paper craft
- Duke Nukem Forever poker chips
- Duke Nukem Forever mini-card deck
- Duke Nukem Forever radioactive emblem dice
Ain't that a lot of stuff for the low, low price of $99? And besides, you can't put a price on the bad-ass himself, Duke Nukem!
Today I'll be heading to GameStop to pre-order my Balls of Steel Edition. I figure why the hell not? The game has been in development for close to 15 years, so it would be an injustice NOT to buy that bad-ass Edition.
What about you? Are you going to go all in? Or be enslaved by the alien scum? Do it for your Country! OR, better yet, DO IT FOR DUKE!
And as a bonus, check out this video if you haven't seen it yet, but most DukeHeads have probably seen it by now. Be warned, however, there is a bizarre amount of cussing, but hey, it wouldn't be a Duke video if that wasn't the case, enjoy!

Duke Nukem Forever Returns on May 3, 2011 To Kick Ass and Chew Bubblegum [FOREVER IS NOT FOREVER]
Well...today marks the day everyone, and I probably speak for the entire planet when I say, EVERYONE, has been waiting for this historic day. The day that Duke Nukem Forever finally sees a definitive release date.
May 3, 2011 is the day that Forever finally sees the light of day. And the day that the entire world will stand still at the glorious re-birth of The Duke himself.
It's been along time a comin', over 12 years to be precise. You know how long that was? A long fuckin' time. I was actually in High School at the time when I first pre-ordered Duke Nukem Forever at EB Games back in '98 or '99(I only wish I had kept that damn receipt, or framed it, damn!). That long ago. Wow. So many things have happened since then. So many things. And now finally after everyone on planet Earth thought this day would never come to fruition, it finally has.
And not only that, but Gearbox Software, the makers of the hit-FPS game Borderlands, brought The Duke back from the brink of death. He was like almost dead if it wasn't for Gearbox. You guys fuckin' rock!
Anyways, before I keep typing and typing and typing and making every bored to death, here's the new trailer they made, and the trailer even kicks major ass!
Duke Nukem Forever is gonna kick ass and chew bubblegum...also to protect our woman from the alien scum on May 3, 2011 in North America and everywhere else on May 6.
HAIL TO THE KING, BABY!

The History of Gaming ... In a Nutshell [History]
A group of students at a University made this video which summarizes the History of Gaming, and they summarized it very well.
